Shape the Future of Keansburg
Help create a community-driven neighborhood plan that reflects your needs, priorities, and vision!
The Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA), together with local partners, is leading a collaborative effort to support the community’s goals for Keansburg. We are bringing together residents, local businesses, public partners, community organizations, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities, build on existing strengths, and develop a shared action plan for the future.
This neighborhood plan will also position Keansburg to access new, dedicated financial resources from the State of New Jersey to support community priorities and strengthen local initiatives.
The Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) program is a New Jersey initiative that helps communities bring their own ideas for neighborhood improvement to life. Through NRTC, local organizations work closely with residents to create a multi-year revitalization plan. If the State approves the plan, it becomes eligible for significant tax-credit-funded investments from corporate partners.
This initiative is designed to build on and support the important work already happening in Keansburg. NRTC funding brings additional “free” dollars into the neighborhood, creating opportunities to strengthen local projects and enhance community spaces and services without increasing local taxes. It works hand-in-hand with municipal priorities and helps expand the resources available to carry out those goals.
For Keansburg residents, this means something important: your voice can directly shape how new resources and opportunities flow into our community.
The Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA) began NRTC planning work in Keansburg last year, but paused activities at the end of 2024 to regroup and make sure our next steps were aligned with what residents told us they wanted. Now we’re excited to rebuild momentum and move forward together!
Here’s our timeline:
We launched the early stages of the NRTC planning process and gathered preliminary feedback from residents and partners.
We are rebuilding momentum, reconnecting with the community, and working closely with residents, local organizations, and stakeholders to develop a neighborhood revitalization plan that reflects Keansburg’s goals and priorities.
AHA will submit Keansburg’s NRTC plan to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) for approval.
If the plan is approved, we will be eligible to submit our grant application to the State and begin attracting significant tax-credit investments into Keansburg. This is funding that can support homeowners, small businesses, youth programs, community spaces, local services, and more.
NRTC is a powerful tool because it puts residents at the center. Your ideas and lived experience help guide where investments should go, and ensure the plan reflects what Keansburg families value most.
Our goal is simple: to work hand-in-hand with the community to create a strong, actionable revitalization plan that opens the door to new resources and opportunities for years to come.
