This neighborhood planning process will bring together residents, local businesses, community organizations, public partners, and other stakeholders to shape a shared vision for Keansburg’s future. Through this effort, we will identify opportunities, build on the strengths already present in the community, and outline a set of strategies and activities that reflect what matters most to the people who live and work here. The process is being convened by Monmouth County’s Community Action Agency, the Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA).
Beginning in late 2025 and continuing through the spring of 2026, AHA will be gathering input, hosting community meetings, and working closely with partners to develop a comprehensive neighborhood revitalization plan for Keansburg.
The completed plan will be submitted to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) in the spring of 2026 for approval. If approved, the plan will unlock special state funding through the New Jersey Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) Program, positioning Keansburg to begin receiving new investment starting in 2027.
This planning process is designed to be truly community-driven. We want residents to have a meaningful voice at every stage and to feel a sense of ownership over the final plan. Opportunities for participation will include an online survey, focus groups, and a series of community meetings. A draft of the neighborhood plan will be shared with the community for review and feedback before it is submitted to the State.
